On May 6, 2002, the fires in the Krasnoyarsk region of Siberia appear to have become considerably smokier than they were when imaged on May 4. This image was captured by the Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Terra satellite.
Please note that the high-resolution scene provided here is 500 meters per pixel. For a copy of this scene at the sensor's fullest resolution, visit the MODIS Rapidfire site.
