A wide swath of dust blew over western India on June 2, 2010. The airborne dust is slightly rosier than the Great Indian Desert beneath it. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Aqua satellite captured this photo-like image of the dust storm at 2:05 p.m. Indian time on June 2. The large image is the highest-resolution version of the image, but the image is available in additional resolutions from the MODIS Rapid Response System.
