Cyclone Adeline-Juliet was moving west through the Indian Ocean on April 6, 2005, when the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Terra satellite captured this image. The image was acquired at 04:00 UTC, near the height of the storm. At that time, Adeline-Juliet had winds of 213 kilometers per hour (132 mph) with gusts to 260 kph (160 mph), and was producing ocean waves that reached up to 14 meters or 45 feet high. The storm gradually weakened after the image was acquired and is not expected to affect any landmass.
