Hurricane Lili continues to gain strength and move northwestward toward the Gulf Coast. The center of Lili is located near 24.8 north longitude and 88.9 west latitude, or about 365 miles south-southeast of New Orleans, Louisiana. Lili is moving towards the northwest near 15 mph with maximum sustained winds near 120 mph with higher gusts. This makes Lili a category 3 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale.
